2018 BioBlitz – Glencoe Golf Club

[metaslider id=2926]

The golf course hosted it’s first Bio Blitz last week.  The Bio Blitz is a species counting competition designed by Audubon International to create awareness among golfers and the community about the environmental value of the habitats supported by golf courses. A community event was held that included a visit from Rescue the Birds.org staff who brought two screech owls to help the participants learn about the importance of conserving the owl’s habitat.  Central school also participated in the event with their class of 130 6th graders who spent time exploring the course and observing species.

During the event there were 445 observations made that included 125 different species.

A $125,000 anonymous matching gift was made to Friends. Please help to secure this significant contribution today!
