The Glencoe Golf Club hosted 130 junior golfers for an IJGA, Illinois Junior Golf Association, 18-hole Individual Stroke Play Event on August 2nd. The IJGA is non-profit organization dedicated to providing playing opportunities for junior golfers ages 8-18, with the mission to educate and promote the game of golf while instilling their motto of: “Better People Through Junior Golf”. There were four divisions that participated: Senior Boys, ages (16-18), Junior Boys, ages (14-15), Senior Girls, ages (16-18), and Junior Girls, ages (14-15). The low medalist for the event was Clint Bailes from Lake Forest who shot a -3, 69 to win the Junior Boys division. The winner of the Junior Girls division was Kelly Dong from Buffalo Grove who shot a 78 and the second place finisher was Olivia Siebert from Glencoe who shot an 80. The Glencoe Golf Club is pleased to help promote junior golf in the area and encourages participation through camps and private lesson to juniors of all ages.
