Since the beginning, the Glencoe Golf Club has belonged to us all. Nearly a century ago, residents of our Village had a vision—to dedicate one of the most idyllic corners of this community to the creation of Glencoe’s only public golf course. At a time when only private clubs existed, they believed that the people of this Village deserved a top-tier yet affordable golf course open to all members of our community. Years later, the course remains one of our most unique local amenities, a critical open green space, and an important symbol of our Village. Together, we have built a thriving golf course that is a source of pride for Glencoe. Situated on land shared with the Forest Preserve District, the club’s success begins with the beautiful space it occupies and the fierce loyalty of our golfing community. Though we are owned and operated by the Village of Glencoe, we are a public golf course, enterprise fund of the Village of Glencoe, that receives no support from property taxes—relying solely on the revenue we generate.

The Friends of the Glencoe Golf Club (Friends) Board manages the business and affairs of Friends. The Friends Board is comprised of volunteers who are enthusiastic advocates of the Friends mission and play an integral role in governance, advocacy and philanthropy.

The growth and sustainability of Friends and its mission to support the Glencoe Golf Club depends on maintaining this volunteer leadership and recruiting new individuals who embrace our vision and accept the privilege and responsibility to serve as volunteer leaders. The Clubhouse Civic Advisory Committee’s purpose is to support and advocate for the Glencoe Golf Club clubhouse project in the broader community. With every new project, Glencoe becomes a more vibrant and interconnected Village, strengthening its status as a premiere destination for life and culture on the North Shore.

We have been able to achieve so much in our long history, and we want to build on this legacy to ensure that our community’s public golf course can continue to thrive. But this bold vision is only possible with the support of those who believe in this community the most. As we embark on a campaign to reimagine what the Glencoe Golf Club can be in our Village—now, and for the next hundred years.
