Spring Bird Walk
May 11 @ 7:30 am – 9:00 am
Join us on May 11th for a special birding walk expertly led by Tim Joyce of Birdscaping Services. Tim will share the fascinating story of spring migration and highlight the vital importance of golf courses to these birds’ northward journeys.
Discover how the open spaces, trees, and water features of the Glencoe Golf Club offer crucial resting and refueling spots for birds flying thousands of miles. During our walk, we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for a wide variety of migratory birds, such as the Bay-breasted Warbler, the Orchard Oriole, and the lively American Redstart. We may even be lucky enough to spot a Golden-winged Warbler, a near-threatened species that perfectly illustrates the critical role our green spaces play in providing a habitat for vulnerable birds.
